Remembrance

I like this one . . . clever!  We should send a copy to our Congressmen and Senators and a framed one to the White House.

We owe our men in uniform .  I do not understand why billions can be sent off to every country in the world but no help for our own.  These men deserve more than an ad on television asking for nineteen dollars a month to help them and their families.    This is one time when there should be no question about how to spend money.

Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss, artists, and a few volunteers which grew to hundreds before the day was over,  made  9,000 silhouettes of German and Allied forces who died at Arromanches, 6-6-1944.  A labor of remembrance and love which didn't last very long as the tide came in and washed it all away.

Remember our heroes then, and now.     If you have a family member , friend, or neighbor who is a veteran and needs the help he should be getting, write your Congressmen and Senators and let them know where you stand.    Don't forget to sign it constituent, as they pay attention as November rolls around.    Of course they have a problem to resolve right now so wait a short time for when they get their act together, then you can give them something to do.

Wednesday, Hump Day, and we have the Chetco effect which gives us a little Indian Summer all over again.    I didn't get out for my walk on the beach yesterday, but I did get to the store and found some Halloween candies to set aside.   We haven't had many children stop by over the last few years as the community puts on some great parties for them.   A good thing in our world of today as it has become really scary out there.   Trust is gone . . . how sad.    I remember fun Halloween nights when we dressed up and went to the doors of our neighbors who were happy to see us and admired our costumes and gave us treats that were homemade.  Those days are long gone...and that is sad.    Hopefully YOU can turn it around in your neighborhood.

Stop and light a candle today.    Think of those who need a shoulder and let them use yours for a little while.    A little venting wont hurt you and will probably give them the boost they need to get on with solving their problems.    I can't think of anyone of us who has not needed the shoulder of a family member or friend to lean on.   So, be one of those kinds of friends and be a listener, quiet, loyal and ready with one of those great big bear hugs . . . it works wonders.      Hugs to all.
