how about a hummingbird hawk moth . . . bet it could make some sizable holes in your winter woollies.
The day before Valentines Day, so you better get busy with sweetness and light for the special folks in your life. Go the homemade way and make your own, bake some cookies or cakes, have a lunch, brunch or dinner and share YOU and time. What a valentine that is. For those far away, loving words on the phone, a time for the three little words that make our world go around. I'm laughing as I checked out some of the valentines at the store and saw the shelves being emptied as the clerks prepared for Easter. You are not allowed to enjoy the holiday itself without having to prepare for the next biggest one....what is the hurry? Why do we have to subject ourselves to this commercial harangue? I am beginning to resent all the ads on television and on the computer. I was amazed to find my screen change and a new ad came on. I am in the middle of a project and don't need the interruption. I wish I knew how to stop the ads, I cannot, but I can make a deal with myself and not buy one item that is advertised.
It is Thursday, all day, stormy around here with our eight inches of rain yesterday and more coming. We prayed for rain and someone usually say prayers are not answered . . . well, let me tell you, someone up there heard our plea and now we have to say a prayer and ask that it lighten up a bit before we float out to sea. It is delightful to walk out in the pouring rain and feel moisture in the air. The waves at the Port were tremendous yesterday. The ocean looked dark and ominous as the sand mixed up into the waves and gave it a color of pewter. The waves crashed into the rocks and spewed foam in the air. An awesome sight . Stay safe, warm and dry after you have a walk about in your weather. Enjoy it for what it is as we couldn't exist without it. Be good, be calm, be loving and watch those seconds tick off and your day becomes special, just like YOU. Hugs to all. |
