Meanwhile, here is a tasty fruit dish. I wouldn't mind if someone put that on my table. Kiwi, strawberries, peaches and grapes . . . It is almost to pretty to disturb, but that thought wouldn't stay long if it were right here. . . It sure wouldn't look like that.
Yesterday proved to be a delightful warm spring like day, showing that soon we will be enjoying more good weather, or at least hope we will. With all the strange weather patterns this past few years, it is hard t tell what is going to be next on our plate. Sunshine is always good, but not without a rainy day here and there. I'm not much for the cold anymore, slows me down on my walking exercises. Daughter Pat chauffeured me around and I did get a few things accomplished. La Verne came over and decided to join us; we made up our minds to have Chinese food for our dinner. We went to our newest restaurant where the food is very tasty and enjoyed our visit. I even had leftovers for lunch today and I ordered from the senior menu. The proprietor knows how to keep his customers coming back.
A friend send me a few of Henny Youngman's quotes so I thought you might enjoy a smile or two. "If you're going to do something tonight that you'll be sorry for tomorrow morning, sleep late."
"The secret of a happy marriage remains a secret."
So, find reasons to smile today. Finish up the chores you set for yourself, make it a point to go outside in the fresh air and look around at all that garden work that needs doing, go back in the house and make a list and put it somewhere that you will be sure to find it when you want to go shopping for all those needed items to spruce up your garden, then sit down with a cup of your favorite drink and grab hold of that good book and read for awhile. There is no rush to get everything done in one day, tomorrow is just fine . . . now that is what is called being 'old'; see, it does have some compensations. Friend Sharon stopped by for a visit and that is always special. Tea and conversation in which we agree we cannot save the world but we can try, at least our little corner of it. So stay positive, good attitude, good deeds and lots of music in your soul as you set an example on how not to waste your seconds. Go, make your day special, just like YOU. Hugs to all. |
