Determination

The driver was determined to pass the elephant  . . . the elephant was determined to go at his own pace . . . there are times when one cannot have their own way.

Half Dome, always a beautiful sight.

Yesterday we celebrated Veteran's Day as we should.    A day of remembrance.    I was over at the Art Gallery here in Port Orchard helping the ladies clean old hats for an exhibit they are going to have .  Some of the hats were from the forties and brought back a memory or two.    If hats could talk I bet they would have tales to tell as some of them probably went out the door along with a handsome Soldier, Sailor or Marine as they went out on a final date before they had to leave for overseas and the horror of war.   The loss of our family members and friends will never be forgotten as the last of the World War II veterans are dying off.   The Viet Nam Vets will move up the ladder , the Desert Storm veterans  and now our fighting men and women of a no name terrorist war of twelve years and so many lost.   War is hell, solves nothing and continues on an on and on . . . why?

Here is Jason Smith, Angie and Gary's son.    He has made corporal already and my how trim and handsome he looks.

Tuesday in Port Orchard and it is going to be a rainy one.    Daughter Christine has work for me to do today, something about scanning old history records from  paper to the latest method of filing.   Last trip here I put several boxes of the paper in order, now I get to make copies for history.

I hope you find something worth while to do and keep yourself out of mischief for the day.    Don't forget to miss me a little, love me a lot and know I am having a very good time.   I will get to lunch at one of my favorite haunts this week...The Tea Room....owned by Debbie McComber of literary fame.   I would love it if she walked in and had a cup of tea with us..   I'd buy....smile.     Speaking of books, I had a notice that my new "Pictures From a Moving Car" is already on its way here and I can hardly wait to see what they did with it.   So far the work has been very professional.   I know, I'm talking my latest book up but it has been one that just makes me feel excited enough to brag about it.    I don't get many critiques but I would welcome some.   I'm off . . . but you already know that . . . don't forget to do your 'best' today, just like you do every day.   Hugs and smiles, smiles and hugs . . . what a way to go.  Hugs to all.
