Felting

The ladies of Port Orchard, Washington visited the Art Gallery and had a lesson in felting.

How cute!  A tiny mouse all dressed up for Christmas . . . 'twas the night before Christmas and all the through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."

At the end of the work table sits daughter Christine deep in concentration as she finishes up her mouse.
You knew that the political cartoonists couldn't resist.

It was good to ride out yesterday with a friend and celebrate her August birthday in November.  She has a an upholstery business, all her own, and told me this year business has been exceptionally busy.   Folks seem to be repairing and replacing covers on their windows and furniture rather than going out to purchase brand new expensive items for their homes.    The economy is catching up with everyone these days.    She had a measuring job while there, but we stopped off to have lunch and found our favorite restaurant closed for the season.   The big harbor seals were out on the long pallets barking like there was no tomorrow.   I wonder if they stay around all winter.   We went on to our second favorite, the Golden Harvest Cafe, and had a bowl of clam chowder.    It was the very first time I have ever had clam chowder with cheese in it.  It was delicious and very filling.   Topped of with some crusty garlic bread didn't hurt our taste buds a bit.  So don't hesitate to try making a creamy cheese clam chowder or add this restaurant to your list when you come this way.    I haven't changed my mind on my real true clam chowder though . . . new and different is fine, but the old true and tasty real true clam chowder is still number one on my menu.  Isn't it wonderful we have choices?  I think so.    So here it is Tuesday already and we have some rain coming in.    I woke up thinking hoses;  I haven't put them away for the winter so I had better get to it.    Make a list of your to-do's today and get busy so you will be prepared for changing weather.  Take yourself out to lunch when you finish and don't forget to take a family member or a friend along.    Enjoy a bit of 'running away' for an hour or two, and don't forget hugs and smiles . . . share and see what happens;  makes you feel good just thinking about it.  Good food, good friends, maybe a few raindrops but who cares . . . just share YOU with those you love today.    Hugs to all.
