A lot of empty spots at the Thanksgiving Day table again this year. Send cards and letters and a package or two even if it isn't holiday time. Let these men and women know how much we really do care. Bubble gum goes over big, and marsh mellows between cookies keeps them fresh and whole. Care packages never go out of style.
A new week, beginnings. . . all over again. I've been away two weeks and have more time out still to go. I am having a wonderful time sharing time with my daughter Christine, something I don't get to do as often as I'd like. She has been introducing me to 'jobs' at the Gallery and it has kept me busy as I used a paper cutter for the first time in years. Then I had small cardboard boxes to open and put together; if the ladies knew how 'dumb' I am about putting those kinds of things together, they would have thought twice and given me something else to do. I did get them done, but it wasn't easy. The new paintings with their new tags look terrific and hopefully will sell as the artists priced them right. I don't have any wall space or I'd be tempted to bring a couple home. I see a few other things I'd like to buy at their sale but it isn't open yet. It doesn't seem fair for the workers to get first choice, so I'll wait for opening day.
Monday, a new start, a busy week as Thursday is Thanksgiving Day and we do have some blessings to count. If you have good health, you are wealthy. If you have a good sunny disposition, you are welcomed everywhere. If you have good manners you are invited back again and again. If you a smile on your face and love shining from those eyes , you are loved more than you know. Make this a week to share YOU with those you love. Don't forget a hostess gift, that 'Malbec" is pretty good stuff and the chocolates never go out of style. Hugs to all.. |
