Weekend is here!

Clever and funny and true.

Martha, Minnie and Mary, I knew their parents well and although I do not get to see them, I do hear from them over the Internet.  I see pictures of their children and grandchildren and wish their folks could have lived longer lives to have enjoyed more seconds with them all.    Beautiful inside and out.

that used to be the case, but now it is my children finding things I cannot find.  Ah, the world turns!

A strange and wondrous face on the iceberg.   A Nordic man?    An Eskimo?  Reminds me of a King with a crown, white beard and all.  What do you see?

The pictures above by Thomas Kinkade  had a softness and beauty all their own, but an artist, by the name of Jeff Bennett, decided to invade what he terms, 'the cloying world of Thomas Kinkade' with Galactic Empire series.   He seems to think "Wars on Kinkade Painter of Light's ethereally bland landscapes has a need for-Star War storm trooper, Imperial destroyers' .  Sheesh, not everyone needs dramatic effects in their peaceful and serene paintings.    I think he should do his own canvases and blow up his world and leave ours alone.

Such a sense of humor....you have to laugh.
Duck soup, roasted duck . . . all has merit in my book.

An albino whale;  how beautiful.     Our world is really full of beauty when we take time to look.

You have your weekend to enjoy.   Halloween is over and the left over candy isn't all bad.  Some folks ran out of candy and had trick or treat children actually bused into their neighborhood and I think that is wrong.  Those folks need to put the bus money into their own neighborhood doings and stop making their children think because someone lives n a nice home they are rich beyond compare.   It takes the fun out of the holiday.  Teaching greed is not the way to go.    Oh for the good old days when you could dress up and go to your neighbors house and be invited in for cider and a treat; homemade cookies or cup cakes and hot cocoa and be admired for the costume you chose to wear.  There were no threats , no scares about pins and poisons in candy . . . and you didn't have to plan to go to the store and buy a truck load of candy you really could not afford.     The holidays start with each one of us;   tradition is in, not out, and our children will be so much better off if we stop trying to change the holidays to satisfy Wall Street and those who have no love or faith in life.   No old fashioned pride in enjoying each holiday as it was meant to be.   Have the courage of your own convictions and get 'back down to earth' with a song in your heart, love in your eyes and bear hugs to go along with it.    Make a pact with yourself to make your holidays different this year, challenge yourself and see how much happier and less stressed you will be. It starts with being thankful for your life and enjoying foods you love;   it ends with keeping Christ in Christmas.   Think about it and do what is best for you and yours.    Hugs to all.
