Dragging

Christine found this little dragon to put on Facebook.    Quite a cutie, love those eyes, so if you feel like being a dragon today, be a good on.

Here it is the very first day of November and we will be stocking up for Thanksgiving while the Christmas items are out and about every aisle in every store.    I think it is about time we took Christmas back and kept Christ in Christmas and as a friend said, put the credit cards away and take the stress out of our lives.   There is no rule or law that says we have to go out and spend every cent we have on gifts no one really wants.   We are plotting and planning a yard sale Christmas so that means we have to do a little thinking and a lot of searching for the right gift for our family and friends.   It is a lot of fun and makes for a lot of laughter as we try to find a treasure or two at a yard sale or the local thrift store.

I wonder how many mom's had this thought . . . We didn't have one trick or treat youngster in our neighborhood last night.  It was very quiet.   There was a lot on going in our town so the children were kept happy and safe with lots of treats.   I just wish we knew that this was going to be the standard Halloween so we didn't go out and buy all that candy which now sits in the big bowl waiting for someone to munch. . . well it will make the rounds come Christmas when you can add it to the cookie trays.

Speaking of making candy, this is a big fudge vat.    Now that is a lot of fudge.

I had to put this in....

and this as 'this' becomes the norm of today.   No alone time . . . why not?   It is good to have time to yourself just to think.

this says it all...

Here it is a new month, the weather cannot make up its mind as to whether to stay socked in or let the sun come through.   We had one very beautiful day yesterday and took a ride to Crescent City and a visit to Walmart where you can find something made in America if you look real hard.    The new food area is huge and the prices lower than Fred Meyer here in Brookings.  Of course they add sales tax there which we do not have here so it is six of one and a half dozen in the other . . . I bought some flour which was an excellent price but didn't realize the bag had a whole in it.   Have you ever worn black slacks and carried a leaking white flour bag....interesting to say the least.   Now I wonder who or what made the hole and if the flour has any problems like the news of our spices.   It is getting so we will be afraid to eat;  then you can be sure I'll be on life support.    Do you ever get the feeling 'you can't win' ;  it is getting more prevalent all the time.  Well there is an old adage about 'if you can't say anything good; then don't say anything at all' so I'll say good morning, have a great day, enjoy your left over candy but save some for your Christmas packages.   Put  a smile on your face and be graceful and grateful.    Hugs to all.
