and last but not least is one of my favorite vegetables....Swiss Chard. Once upon a time, many years ago, I had a special friend who planted a whole row of chard just in case I would come for a visit. If I did, I got to weed and then partake in the delicious chard. That and Hubbard Squash . . . Thanksgiving must be on the way.
I'm here in Port Orchard. A very long ten hour ride, with only a couple of stops. There is traffic on the highway you would not believe. A Sunday drive so you would think folks would want to stay home and enjoy their own spot in the world. Looking at the miles of cars on the road , going in both directions, I couldn't help think of how rich we make the oil companies. You would think they could give back a price cut now and then. We stopped at Wendy's for a coffee break and my special stone necklace was admired by a young boy, about six or seven, and I was invited over to their table as the father explained his son collected rocks and wondered what the stone was in my necklace. I went over and showed him and had a conversation. A real cutie and into rocks. I got a smile and a wave goodbye . . . I'm sorry I didn't think to get his address as I could have sent him a box of beach rocks for his collection.
So I am enjoying my morning coffee and am going to go and clean old hats at the gallery with Christine and her friends today. I might even model one or two as hats were 'in' once upon a time . . . some fifty years ago when you couldn't go out without hat and gloves . Wonder how many of you remember that, or at least stories of those dress up days.
Stay well, do good deeds today, miss me a little, love me a lot . . . make today special just like YOU. Hugs to all |
