Jennifer had the latest picture of the fire east of Gardnerville, Nevada area. The fire fighters are on it and all the folks are praying for the winds to die down. |

Lavender, a different variety as it is usually a beautiful purple shade. |

Now this should tickle your funny bone. The Internal Revenue Service will never live this scandal down. |
We had a lot of wind yesterday so it is not fun to work out in the garden. I looked out at the pile of trimmings that needs picking up and decided to leave it be and grabbed my book, "The Wings of the Morning". The author, Thomas Tryon, was an actor, and a good one, but he retired from acting and concentrated on writing. He is an excellent writer and has at least five novels to his credit. My thoughts are to finish the story today depending on the wind. That little pile is not going any where unless I get busy and pick it up. No new yard person yet. My neighbor Mary was over to visit awhile yesterday and she offered to get her weed whacker and cut my hedge down for me but I didn't feel I could take advantage of her good thought. She and her husband Jo have a big yard to take care of and that keeps them very busy. Mary and Jo have a brand new granddaughter, born a couple of weeks ago and lucky for them they get to baby sit and enjoy her. Mary was laughing as she told tales of her daughter telling her how to handle her new born. Mary raised seven children so feels she really does know how to take care of a new born but the new mother is filled with instructions from the hospital experts and new modern ideas in child raising. One rule was to wake the baby up to feed it ....are they crazy? The baby will survive in spite of it all and so will the new mother.
Enjoy your weekend and find things to do that make your 'kingdom' a happy place. Offer up a few prayers for those in need; donate when and what you can to help those who have to start all over again as fire and floods take their toll. Be sensitive to the needs of another as one never knows when and where, or how, life changes can come about each new day. Start with a kind word and see where it leads. Hugs to all.
