Hungry

A delicious vegetable dish if you are a squash lover and I am.   I think I'll try this one as it seems easy to make.  Dice up some onions and garlic and saute, put into a pan and add slices of tomato, yellow squash, and zucchini.  Cover and bake at 400 degrees for fifteen minutes.   Remove and spread a cup of Italian cheese, place back in the oven for another fifteen minutes until golden brown.   That is the recipe as I remember reading it, but remember I am a pinch and snip cook and am guessing...try it anyway, it may come out just fine and you will enjoy every bite.

Here is a picture of Angie's tomatoes , now if the sun will shine and make them red she will make good use of them.    If I were close by I'd be first in line for a real true fresh vine tomato.

Here is an unusual plant called the Dutchman's Pipe or Aristolochia Elegans, the Garden Geek's photo.
How unusual and different.
Angie had this picture on her Facebook showing a real true bear swimming in Lake Tahoe.  You can bet there were few brave enough to swim along with it . . . but then it looks like a cub and you can bet momma bear isn't far behind.

Here it is Monday all over again and the start of a brand new week   The garbage truck should be here very soon and I am a bit apprehensive as I stuffed one of the big black bags filled with my clippings into the container and it wasn't easy to do.    I can see the tongs picking up the container and shaking and shaking and shaking trying to get my bag out . . . isn't there an old adage about what goes in comes out, or something like that?    I hope gravity is in my favor or should I expect a knock on the door with a harried driver or will he just leave it behind and let me keep it as a souvenir.    If it works I have two more just like it.

Our latest news from Erin is that she and Donaleo are heading for Spain.    Their time is getting shorter as they have their tickets bought for an August flight home.   It cannot come soon enough for us here at home as it seems like she has been gone forever.  She will be happy to leave the hot desert behind her and the mosquitoes who took a liking to her and left bites on her legs and arms.

I have a new favorite breakfast this morning as I sit here eating some special homemade granola with all kinds of nuts in it and topped with banana, blueberries and yogurt.  Jock's sister shared her recipe with Pat and it is delicious.     There is only one thing wrong with it, the more you eat of it, the more you want.   I finished the amount Pat told me was healthy, but I think my health deserves a little bit more.    So enjoy your breakfast this morning, set your attitude on high and go about your business of the day.    Don't forget to exercise the facial muscles and spread those arms wide for you never know who will come knocking on your door this morning.    Picture my coffee cup raised in hopes that you will have a very special day.  Hugs to all.
