Happy Birthday America!!

Fourth of July . . . I remember way back as a small child we celebrated the Fourth of July with salmon and fresh garden peas for our dinner.  We held sparklers and ran around making circles in the air and fired off tiny Chinese firecrackers that popped and sparkled.   I am looking forward to my beans and hot dogs for my dinner tonight and hopefully the fog will lift so I can see the fireworks from my back porch.  When I lived in Carson City, Nevada I could take my chair out in the patio and sit and watch the fireworks going off in the big field up near the high school.    This year the fires have started . . .

When I first moved to Carson City and saw my first fire, just like this, up in the foothills.  I stood and watched from my yard and wondered how fast the fire traveled, jumping from pine tree to pine tree, moving at a rate that was terrifying.   Friend Jennifer had this picture on her Facebook last evening.

Later she sent in another and you can see that the fire is massive.     I sent a Facebook message to my friend Mike who was kind to respond quickly telling me he and my son Mike are both doing fine.  Say a prayer for the fire fighters as they will be out working hard today.  It is the fire season so be careful and don't fire up the fire crackers near any grassy areas.  Make sure you put all camp fires out if you go camping.  Just be extra cautious and take good care of You.

Isn't this a beauty?   a mum;  a pink mum with a touch of yellow.

Take time to celebrate the birthday of America . . . share yourself with your family and friends.   If you are invited to a bar-b-qu bring a special dish along or bake a cake or a pie and make sure you take your biggest smile, your funniest jokes and your walk in hugs along with you.   Go . . . have a great day and celebrate.
Hugs to all.
