The cabin
This was first class only flying, three compartments, a salon, a bar and a smoking section. The seating was comfortable with plenty of leg room, hot meals were served and free liquor. Compare this with what is on going today in flying from place to place . . . some changes creating quantity over quality.
A little bit of airplane history. Of course the only ones who could afford it in those long ago eras were the royalty; our Air Force One is a larger concept of this 1930 machine and used often. I wonder what the cost difference is today.
I enjoyed my walk out in the sunshine yesterday and decided to have my lunch at Fred Meyers eating area. I couldn't get near the coffee as the line was never ending and settled for water. I had purchased a pastrami on rye sandwich and it was huge and delicious but I brought the other half home and shared it with my neighbor La Verne. She is so busy painting and revamping her rooms that she forgets to eat. I just never have had that problem...smile. I got plenty of exercise and bought the Big X puzzle in the 'rag' sheet and set to work on that for awhile. It was good to be out people watching and see the group of men sitting at one of the tables enjoying each others company. One fellow came in and joined them and greeted each one with a hug and a slap on the back . There were a few ladies by themselves and they seem to be content with a piece of the local newspaper. A couple of the employees were enjoying a break at a corner table. Life...ongoing, nice to see. So today, if you have nothing special you want to do, go for a lunch out at your favorite store and do some people watching, it is like watching a stage play. It is only Tuesday so you have time to do your good deed for this week, hug a friend or two, and if the sun comes out and it warms up you can start to work in the yard. I have my clippers at the ready and the bushes to cut back that need work. Go, make your day special., like YOU. Hugs to all.
