Tides

High Tide

Low Tide

Low Tide

High Tide
Michael Marten spent eight years documenting the daily rhythm of the tides of the British Coastline.  He would spend eight to sixteen hours in the same locations to capture the dynamic nature of the tides and the different landscapes.    What is that old adage about . . . 'time and tide waits for no man'?   Another truism.

An angry man.

Aunty Acid almost gives Maxine a run for her money.  A little bit on the course side but she does hit the nail on the head.

Sunday seemed to get here in a hurry.   Rainy or misty here on the coast.    The Lenten season starts on Wednesday of this coming week, the fifth, so you have a few more days to indulge before giving up one of your favorite past times.    There is a new movie out on the Life of Christ and I hear it is excellent.  A great way to start off the Lenten season and a reminder of what lent and Easter is all about.

If, by chance, your sacrifice saves any money during those forty days of lent, put it into an envelope and donate it to the Wounded Veterans.   I know it is hard to hear all the pleas and look at the incoming mail with labels, pads and calendars  supposed gifts for donating to their cause,  but I think they should put that money spent on that kind of stuff into the program and help the men and women in need.  The intent is good but the money spent on that 'stuff' could and should be put to better use.
We don't need to be bribed with their 'gifts'.   It is hard to know who gets richer for their begging or for the ones who really truly are helping the veterans.   The wounded veterans organization is led by a veteran in a wheel chair and all his helpers are veterans so I think they mean business.   Others are out to get rich quick, so it is hard to figure out how to get help to the men and women who are in need, and believe me there are many with more to come.    Our Veteran Administration needs an overhaul.   The hospitals and the medical staff need all the help they can get.   We all know stories of veterans who have been short changed by the system.    One more thing that needs work.   So give a little thought to lent this year and see what you can do for you.    It helps to do it all with a smile. an not weakening half way;   go for the long haul and don't forget hugs can mean encouragement, so be encouraging.    Hugs to all.;
