News

The huge asteroid that was to 'maybe' hit the earth disintegrated in space and became dust particles . . . how lucky we are and we don't even know it.

A sad story from Minnesota where the elk and deer are disappearing and no one knows why.

This little castle reminded me of the small castles in Ireland where the monks used to hide until the invaders left;  only there were no stairs on the outside.  They only had one window high near the top and had to scale the wall and pull the rope in after them.    It was in a small castle like this that the Book of Kells was written and the oil from the sheep's wool was dyed and mixed with vegetation to make the colors used to create the beautiful lettering.  Pat put this picture up on her face book saying she wanted one in her back yard.   Come to think of it , it would make a nice guest house and we could all play Rapunzel and let down our hair....smile.

Angie has decided on a move and is going to go from Truckee to Newport, Oregon to live and work and enjoy all the new sights and sounds of the northwest.    Good luck on your new undertaking Angie.  We know you will be a big success and the best part is I will get to see more of you.   It is a lovely drive down the coast and takes about six hours . . . a weekend jaunt for the young.   A sad loss for USGS .

This is cold . . .

This is what cold looks and feels like....what a face.....icy fur is not what this cat likes . . . how can you tell?
Friday is here, a whole week gone of the month of March.   I decided on hot oatmeal for my Lenten breakfast this morning and decided to put it in a covered pan on a low burner while I blogged. . . not a good idea as it bubbled up and went all over the stove so now I have a clean up job to do.    The oatmeal came out fine, and I devoured it.  So off I go to toast a piece of Jewish Rye bread which was on sale this week.  Two loaves for $5.00 instead of $4.29 for one . . .outrageous prices on bread these days.  I should give it up for lent, but, bread is my downfall.  I should say one of them.    Coffee will wake me up and I will get on with Friday....hope you are up and ready for your weekend.    Rest, relax and spend those seconds like you had millions to spare.   Let the smile shine from your eyes as you share hugs with those you love and like.    Don't forget to light a candle for a love one , a veteran, a friend facing a hard task and be sure you light one for yourself so you can see your way.    Hugs to all.
