More

See what you can do with a watermelon.   Valentine Day is coming so be an artist and enjoy the sweetness of the day.

There are no easy answers to the broken immigration laws.  I feel very sorry for the people that couldn't wait to leave their own lands for whatever injustices prevailed;  , but it just is not right to step to the head of the line when there are folks who have waited years and years to get to the USA.    We have all been remiss.    We all have to find the way, the  American way, to have those millions that are here pay taxes and pay their own way, and become part of the fabric of what once was the greatest nation in the world.   Our current administration seems bent on making us dependent but we know we have to live up to our ideal of being independent, a lesson they need to learn.    It is going to be an interesting time as we wait to see what this administration finds as a solution to this horrific problem.

Leave it to Maxine . . . she never misses a beat.

Obama Care at its best.     Free medical, all you have to do is find a way to the nearest jail.

Now you have to laugh at this one.     This man is going down as the worst president we have ever had.  Experience counts every time . . . too bad he didn't have any.

It is Friday, all day, the end of another week and time flies when you are having fun.     Bob and Andrea sent me a puzzle of one thousand pieces of yellow shades with a few red, black and orange thrown in.  It is a replica of a work in glass that an artist perfected in his studio in Arizona.  It only took four days to get the frame.   I am not sure if this one will be finished anytime within the next year.  At this point, it look like we may never eat at the dining room table again.  I am thinking that when and if it is finished, they deserve to have it on their table and I will be happy to box it up and send it.    Not that I am not appreciative of their gift, but this one is just hard , , , thanks for thinking of me, but really , you shouldn't have.....smile!!

So, put a smile on your face and enjoy your weekend.    Don't forget one good deed deserves another.   If it is inclement weather, make the best of it, rent a movie, curl up with a good book, clean all the drawers and find treasures.    Whatever you choose to do, just be sure you include a friend or two and share a meal, a glass of your favorite libation and don't forget desert; it is what keeps you sweet.    Go, call someone up and don't be afraid to tell them you love them;  the response maybe just what you have been hoping for.  Hugs to all.

See

Now you know how to prepare pineapple and melon for a breakfast treat.   Bananas and a carrot too.  Wonder what the nose is, a tomato?   How cute it is and I bet really tasty when you carve it up and your taste buds are at the ready.

Angie had this little cutie on her Facebook yesterday.   I couldn't resist....never thought beach rocks could be so interesting.  um.....a real beauty resting in the sunshine;  clever and some one has an artistic eye or is wishful thinking.

Helen Keller meeting Charlie Chaplin.    I wonder what she thought of him.  Fingers don't lie.

A menu from a time when salaries were around twenty dollars a week;   you are much to young to remember those good old days.    If you go out to lunch today it is twenty dollars for two as everything is increasing in price but I can't say the same for taste.   If you want anything extra on your hamburger you have to pay for it.    We used to go over to the Lucky Seven to have lunch as it was five dollars for the salad bar which was a cup of delicious soup and a whole bar of crisp vegetables with some good crusty bread on the side;  the new price is nine dollars and most folks are staying away.  I don't think there were five people in the restaurant the last time we were there.    Food prices are sky rocketing and the new idea is for neighbors to share food at meal time.    If you cook a pot of spaghetti and have lots of left overs, make a deal with your neighbor to share and then when they cook up a huge boiled dinner they share back.  I guess you would have to start a neighborhood club and discuss menus so you all cooked something different and to every one's taste.    Maybe those who do not like to cook or do not have time, could help pay for the ingredients.    It may come to that so don't put your nose up in the air.    Victory gardens will have to come back in style.    Sharing and caring never go out of style.   So today think about making good friends with your neighbors.   Learn about their likes and dislikes in the food department as you  may have to share in order to exist in this strange elitist world Obama has in mind for us.  I just hope you have a friendlier neighborhood than I do. I've been in this one just over eleven years and I cannot tell you the names of neighbors on this street, with the exception of one who does know how to be a neighbor while the others nod and go their own way.    Sad but true, isolation seems to be the name of the game.  So today reach out and touch someone, it may be the opening of a beautiful friendship.    Hugs to all.

Hump Day

Truer words were never spoken.  I wonder why it takes us so long to learn this lesson in life.

Angie put this picture of Shasta Lake on her Facebook yesterday.   It is really sad to see.  We are in for a draught that is going to take a toll on the California valley food growing areas so be prepared for higher prices , if there is to be fresh fruits and vegetables.

Speaking of fruit, what a lovely artistic presentation;  almost to pretty to eat;  but that never stops me.   I have others to show you and will put them on each morning until they are completed.    So many clever chefs in our world.     I think there must be a little artist in each of us, but I never give my food a chance to look artistic as I have a handy spoon or folk at the ready.

Hump Day and I have an eye check up this morning, so off to have my coffee and wake up.    I hope your day is going to be filled with good news and that you surround yourself with positive people who will make you feel like a king or a queen for a whole day.     Keep the smile in your eyes and don't forget to share a hug or two.    When you share YOU with those you love, your world expands into a 'sunshine state' so shine. . . Hugs to all.

View

Old, entwined like the fingers of a hand but look closely and you can see the 'yeti' holding up the tree.

You have seen pictures of this painted desert before.    Every now and again pictures show up of oddities in our world and this has to be one of the most beautiful true wonders in our world.   Nature producing a canvas of amazing colors.

I'd like a closet big enough to call a library, but I'll settle for my bookcases and my plant stands with the place for books.

I have run into a change of printing . . . how come.....John!!!!  Pat!!!! Christine!!!!  Help!!!!

Go have a fun day I'm going off and pout. . . shout.....have a fun day.  I'll be back.   Be good, kind and gentle today and everyday.  Hugs to all.

Super Shame Game

Sheila had a birthday luncheon celebration and her favorite aunt came to visit.    Happy Birthday, from those smiles, I'd say it was a huge success.  I would like to have been there to help you celebrate.

Mike Amacher sent this picture of his flowers in bloom up there in Nevada.  It has been a long cold winter but nature has a way of surprising us  in  winter months.   This year everything is in bloom and it is a long way from Spring.  Maybe we just need a little beauty in our world to cheer us up.

Clever Jay Leno, gives us something to think about.   A lot of folks need to learn a lesson on budgets, spending  and chaos.

A beautiful sky with a Whale's tail.  Often the sky resembles the ocean and now I see why....could be reflections in our world;  a lovely thought.

Well yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday and the hype went on for weeks and the anticipation  was great in  the hope of having a super duper Sunday watching the big game and all those commercials and the spectacular half time entertainment.     I don't know about you, but I thought I'd give it a try and daughter Pat came over to help me celebrate Super Bowl Sunday with a 'tail=gate party all our own.    We settled in our seats with a glass of special wine; some bruschetta and some wonderful Chicken curry and watched a boring game with stupid ads and one of the worst entertainment half times I have ever seen.   What a waste of time, money and energy for most folks;  gave me good reasons for not being a fan.    I may be all by myself in this summation but I think the time and money would have been better spent helping out veterans by building bigger and better hospitals and getting our men and women back on their feet.  What a crock, what a waste of time and money.   Yetch!!!

Hopefully common sense will return.  Meanwhile you have work to do and good deeds to perform.   Don't let my critique slow you down;  if you have words to the contrary, bring them on.  I'm going to celebrate my seconds today doing a good deed or two and light a candle while I'm at it.    Bring on the smiles and the hugs;  I could use one.   Hugs to all.

Fun

I am not sure what order these nuns are; looks like our old St. Joseph nuns from grammar school. I don't remember them having a fun sense of humor, but am happy if the new generation does.

I think this sign should be in many places.   Conversation is going out of style....me, a lady of words.....what will I do???    Keep quiet';  never!   What fun would that be?

A feeling, all its own, words just cannot do it justice.......Jock, eat your heart out!!!!

Now you have to admit this is pretty clever.    Strange, but different.   I like different.

It is Sunday morning and everyone is getting ready for the BIG game. . . I might even tune in. . . and I am not a football fan.    I like the idea of some delicious snacks though, so I might just buy a few extra special ones at the grocery store this morning.   I'll have to check out that luscious chicken curry that daughter Christine introduced me to;   better still I might put a bug in Patricia's ear and have her make some.  She makes some really delicious chicken curry.    So, go . . . enjoy the game and the party favors....have some friends in and see who can 'yell' the loudest;   maybe you could have a special prize for that . . . a Sunday to enjoy;  how lucky we are.    Don't forget the bear hugs.    Don't forger your one good  deed for today;  ah. . . make it two.     Hugs to all.

A Little That

Judy sent pictures from Colorado.   The snow is so heavy it split one of the branches of  her favorite tree.

Do you think the crown is getting a bit heavy . . . I hope so.

Joseph John , the newest arrival in or world.   What a cutie.   Looks like he has smiling eyes to see with, and his grandmother Judy said she would share and I could brag about having a 'great' grandchild.   So I am bragging, I'm bragging.  isn't he handsome, isn't he wonderful, isn't he a miracle.

A Heat Shaped rock . . . A reminder . . . Valentine Day will be here before you know it, so light up your heart with laughter and find a special Valentine for your true loves.

February First and it is turning cold here on the coast.    We may get some more winter weather yet.    Bob and Andrea went to a special glass showing in Arizona and sent pictures which I shared some days ago.   They were not content to just show me pictures but bought me a puzzle of the famous glass work of the artist.  I think her note said it might be a doozy, and she was right, Pat and I opened the box and looked for the frame pieces and if you blink they disappear they are so tiny.   Hours and the frame is not even started past a few pieces put together.  This puzzle may be the one that will do it....make me aware how dim the eyes become as you are to lazy to find your glasses.   I'll keep you posted.

Enjoy your weekend.  Find some good deeds to do, then rest up and be good to yourself.   Watch out for the spammers as they are using the Microsoft word in their spam in hopes of taking as much of your money as they can.    Just shut your computer off and reboot and you will be fine.    Meanwhile smile with your eyes and walk into a bear hug or two.   Hugs to all.
