A Banner Day

   I wonder how many of you will remember the old cigarette ads back when it was popular to smoke cigarettes and they were supposedly good for your rest and relaxation . . . sure turned out to be a far different tale when cancer reared its ugly head. 

I hope Nevadans wise up and do not vote Harry Reid in again.  What a disappointment.  He was once a strong fighter for his constituents in Nevada, but power does something to those politicians and they forget why they were sent up on  the 'hill'. 

Believe it or not these are gopher hills.    It took some time before the experts could figure out what they were. 

A little beauty to admire.  The sad tale was that it was hit by a car, thrown off to the pathway where a young woman was doing her morning run and it was killed and the young lady injured but recuperating. 

Today is daughter Christine's birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU;  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU;   HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CHRISTINE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.   I LOVE YOU. 

Tuesday is as good a day to celebrate a birthday as any.    Christine has to make up her mind where she would like to go to dinner tonight.   All of her gifts, cards and the above cake are in Brookings, packed and ready to deliver if and when the weather breaks.   We are a week late in getting on the road and the forecasts are miserable for traveling on the roads.   Today we expect some flurries and it might go to twenty-eight degrees.    We will head over to the Gallery and help the ladies set up for the upcoming Christmas tea, then we can choose a place to celebrate this special birthday.   

Check your calendar and make sure you are not missing a love ones birthday.   Don't let the weather stop you around home, just don't go traipsing off to some far away place when the roads are bad.   Did you see that pile up and stopping of the trucks on TV yesterday;  a first for so many to actually stop cold.   Do yourself a favor and add extra minutes to your trips today.   I'd be much happier knowing you were safe and sound.  So make this Tuesday a special day of being good to you day . . . why not?  You deserve it, but only if you continue to smile with your eyes and show those pearly whites to the world.   Make those walk in hugs warm the cockles of your heart.    Hugs to all.
