The View

Yes, it is that cold here this morning.

Look closely and you can see the face . This work reminds me of the acrobats.

Angie sent the picture of the sunrise in Truckee

then added on of the sunset in Truckee also.   Beautiful county, beautiful pictures.  Yes, winter does have a beauty all its own.

Wonder if this cat is trying to test out its nine lives.    Brave old thing.

So be brave today and face the cold winter weather.    I heard it was about three degrees in Nevada and it did warm up to about fifteen degrees.   I wonder how son Michael is doing.   You can be sure he has ice to break for the horses to have their water.    We did a bit better around here with our early morning twenty degrees.   It did warm up a bit later, but not by much.   Christine and I went over to Silverdale to look for a winter coat for me as I only came with a short summer jacket.    I couldn't find anything that fit right and everything was from some overseas destination without any quality at all and very high prices.   So I have a new sweater to put under the jacket until I get home to my heavy duty coat in my closet.  We looked around at several of the stores and they had a 'big' ladies shop which I wanted to see.   They kept all of their merchandise after I got a peek at the price tags...$78.00 for a blouse you do not have to iron...I haven't ironed a  blouse in twenty years or more. . . this material they are touting now must have sliver or gold threads in it, but I didn't see any.    Another case of leaving the shelves filled, my 'stuff' is still n good condition and hopefully will stay that way.    I am amazed to think the merchants have such grandiose ideas of the people's pocket books in this horrible economy of high inflation.    Maybe they  hob nob with the wealthier members of society, but they sure do not give the 'little guy' a break.   So much for Christmas shopping surprises;   I'm thinking a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant will do.

it is Thursday all day, a day closer to your weekend.   Maybe if you have some snow you can go skating, sledding or skiing and enjoy the outdoors.  Be sure to bundle up and have a lot of fun.   If you are shopping for Christmas gifts, hopefully you will find something made in America you can afford.   Of course if you are looking for a book you can always go on Amazon and buy my "Pictures From A Moving Car", or one of the two novels;  "Choices"  or "Decades".    I had three whole hits so far.    I haven't given up, several friends have promised to buy at least one of my books and make me feel good.....smile.

Gear up!   Get out!  Enjoy the seconds as they tick off today because you can.   There are a lot of folks in need of a verbal or a true hug today.   Don't be stingy.   Put a big smile on your face, one of those that sparkles through your eyes and go out and greet a few folks who just grin when they see you coming.  If you are out there fishing in the cold, good luck.  I hope you catch a big one.     If you are out looking for a Christmas tree, find a beauty.   Make today special, just like YOU.   Hugs to all.
