In the news

The author Mac Aedan, has a new tale to tell about King Arthur
He was not English but Scottish.   He grew up in a swamp.  He did all of the things he was famous for but his castle and his deed were all in Scotland, not England, and English history needs to be rewritten according to this author.   I wish I knew the title of his book, it would be a great read.  Google here we come.

Maybe we should call this picture, 'contentment'  the wise old owl looks happy in his little nook.

Paula's daughter Kelly and her husband and two sons were busy putting up the tree this past weekend.  I'd say they did a great job.  It certainly is a beautiful tree.   I bet the two boys are excited.

Strange creatures, kind of cute though.
Here it is Monday all over again.    The days go flying by.   Yesterday Christine took me for a ride in a bit of rural Port Orchard to the Gold Course and the Club house where we had lunch.   A real true delicious clam chowder was on the menu, who would have thought I'd find it out in the wilds.    We each had a cup of chowder and split a sandwich as we sat in front of the fireplace and had a wonderful view of the course.   I bet it is a monster to play as there are huge pines, lots of little hills and part of the sound as well.    The Club House is huge and the windows of the dining room were from floor to ceiling.   The bar was huge also and the dining room was busy.  the waitress was very slow to take our order but once she did our wait was short.   The room was decorated and there were all white poinsettias  around, very beautiful.

We had been to the Gallery and Christine, the treasurer, had completed her report and they made over and above their expectations.    The folks here in Port Orchard believe in standing behind their Gallery board and volunteers.     I met one of the older men, a painter who does seascapes.   He has three unframed canvases on the wall so the feeling is of walking along an entire beach front with the waves coming in and there were two people in the middle canvas, a woman and child.  He said it was his wife and granddaughter, then laughed and said that little girl just got married a month ago.   I told him I enjoyed meeting him and he said I should have a hug...and when I walked into a hug he grinned saying true hugs give life . . . see, I told you so . . . smile.

So go about today giving a walk in hug or two.   There are folks out there that can use one.    The news from Brookings is a true cold front moving in on the coast and maybe a bit of snow.   It is going to be interesting to see what the weather is going to be like before this week is over as it is time to think about getting back home to my routine.  It is time to think about getting our Christmas cards ready, so get out your list and get going with all those verbal hugs.    Hugs to all.
