Olden Days

Soft eyes and big feet, a sign of a friendly guy.

and a one horse open sleigh . . . bet it was fun to hitch old Dobbin to the sleigh.   Some of the ranches still have sleigh rides to this day.   Hope you have a chance one day to go for a sleigh ride.

Up for adoption.     How can one choose?

Now this is a truism.  What do I want for Christmas?    Hugs, hugs, and more hugs should do the trick.

An old fashioned stove.   Great cookies came out of this one.

Bet you wouldn't fit into these seats.

Remember tinsel.   We had to put on one strand at a time, no standing back and flinging tinsel at the tree in bunches...nope, one strand at a time.

I wondered what this was.....a dough bowl;   a nice one too.

Hey there Bob, how goes your day up there in Prescott, Arizona where snow does fall in the mountains?   That is quite a big area you have to shovel.    Looks like fun for your first big snow storm there.  I'd offer to help but I'm still up here in the north where the cold is colder and the rain is rainier and the icy roads have been keeping us off the major highways.    It is warming up, going to be fifty degrees today...wow....hope it stays for a few days.

Here it is Friday already and a new weekend coming up.    If you are off to a Christmas party or two, remember you are the designated driver. . . smile.     There is a lot to do a Christmas draws closer.  Don't forget to light a candle for those service men and women who are not able to be with their families for Christmas.    Christine and I are getting the special dishes out and washed for the annual Christmas tea at the gallery.  We will be helping to set up today, twelve tables.   The 'crew' is at the ready and know exactly what to do and as the old adage goes,' many hands lighten the load'   So make your seconds count today and be one of the helping hands.    Don't forget to hum a little, or better still, sing out and enjoy the old Christmas carols that are so much a part of this holy holiday.    There are some who would like to take that privilege away, so sing loud and enjoy each word.    "Oh Holy Night, the stars are brightly shining,  It is the night of our dear saviors birth...the King of Kings the weary world rejoices .....Fall on your knees....oh hear the angel voices....oh night....oh night....oh night when Christ was born....."   Yeah, one of my favorites.   So let your light shine in your eyes;    pucker up and spread a little light and fun in your world.    What you give, you do get back . . . so spread some joy and keep Christ in Christmas.  Walk into a bear hug or two and feel the difference.    Smile with our eyes and watch your world light up.   Hugs to all.
